Low Carb And Dark Heces

not be like me ... Today in Mexico

... and to share files between real and virtual machine (in my case, WinVista and WinXP respectively) using VirtualBox, do the following:
  1. Go to the virtual machine. In the window, up in the VirtualBox menu, Devices and then select "Install Guest Additions." Install.
  2. In the virtual machine settings, go to "Shared Directories" folder and choose the real machine to be shared.
  3. Now when it restarts the virtual machine (WinXP in my case, remember), click the right mouse button on "My Network Places" and choose "Map network drive." In Folder, put Browse, and go to "VirtualBox Shared Folders", where you have to choose the shared folder.
Ready! They saw that it was easy and did not need to lose half day on it? Arggg ...

Laura Gemser In Streaming

my Mac

Continuing the theme of how to work remotely on a Mac OSX 10.4 , today I learned to make WakeOnLAN. That is, to wake a sleeping Mac is (almost off) by sending a special UDP packet.
The most useful page I found is this MacOSXhints.com: Wake a Mac from a PC and vice versa .
The steps are:
  1. Check the options in "Energy Saver" that is set to "Wake for Ethernet network administrator access"
  2. Check and record the data network connection (wired, wireless does not work) in Utilities-> Network Utility. Record the MAC address (I listed as "Hardware Address") IP address (IP Address / es).
  3. Put Mac to sleep (Manzanita-> Sleep)
  4. Now, from the Windows computer, download an application that serves to WOL, for example WOL Magic Packet Sender. Sign
  5. the same network as the Mac (eg, via VPN) Open
  6. of software and enter the IP address in Host Name and MAC address in MAC Address. Ready
  7. send the WOL magic packet ... and my Mac magically turns on. Now I can access your Mac via SSH or VNC.
PD. If you read this and did not get it, sorry, will soon return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Clipart 16th Birthday

Waking laughter laughter part 2

Remember how I told them my bank warrant an increase of over 50% in the commission of my checking account because "UF was more expensive in December?

Today I remembered that I never answered the item and called the bank. I managed to contact my executive and guess what I said ...

... "But Valeria, is that the UF was more expensive in December !"...

Oh, and I stay quiet because an area of \u200b\u200bthe bank is reviewing the case (despite my protestations that I do not think that will take two weeks to discover something that should not be so complicated, I said they were already watching).
